Another First !

I head banged in a FAST LOCAL in Mumbai.

"Dont look at me like that, I am listening to the most awesome rendition of Paranoid, by Megadeth, Symptoms of the Universe, Sepeltura, N.I.B, by Ugly Kid Joe and War Pigs, by Faith No More." was what i would have explained to anyone who cared to stop staring and ask the question !

Now i would have grabbed the attention of all Black Sabbath fans. How do i dare to be so sacrilegious ! How dare he credit Ozzy masterpieces to these guys !!!

I have always had an aversion to covers, this may be due to the plethora of Remix albums that our rickshaw wala happen to play at full volume / the Ganesh Pandals use to appease the lords, and I generall would consider most covers to be of the same genre, wannabe ..

But i was pleasantly surprised to find this album - Nativity in Black: Tribute to Black Sabbath, with this play list

well now that i think of it this is a short list of my top 10 covers. this is just my take on the matter ...

1. KoRn - Another Brick In the Wall. (Pink Floyd) - AWESOME. No one I repeat NO ONE can compare with this. Infact there are times when i prefer the KoRn version to the original !

2. KoRn - One (Metallica) - The first cover that I heard KoRn perform, MTV ICON, Metallica, and KoRn had a standing ovation from the masters themselves !
