Plagiarism ?

How can the choice of words "Something So Random" and "Invading my personal space" "Come on, I want to talk to you", be considered plagiarism?

The recent rush of new paper articles on whether HOWGAL is an act of plagiarism has got me thinking.

I am sure all of us have chosen to use at least one of these phrases, sometime in our lives, even without reading Ms. McCaffertys earlier novels. The most ridiculous of the three is “Come On, I want to talk to you.” I use the same statement at least once a day.

In fact there are times when we use a phrase/quote which we like verbatim, but would that be considered plagiarism?

Give the 19 year old a break; she deserves it.
