Day 1, The Mahakumbhabishekam

Theres too much to write about, so will let the pictures do the talking.

The main attraction
The prayer starts

Maintaining Rythm
The Main Pundit (from Tirupati)
Crowds to rival Mumbai locals

6 feet tall. - natural
2 feet added by a stool. - cunning
Gap in the crowd. - luck
thats the lord ayappa placed and first poojas being performed.
doors donated generously by an aunt.
As the crowds left for the other temple,
I got to where the priest were sitting, to get thes.

But the above pics so much time that the
process in the other temple had begun. satisfied
with pics from afar. would have liked an S3 IS at this
time though
teeming crowds.

people jostling for prasad teertham.
The mc, kept the crowds entertained.
and thats me as i left for the temple
and my dads shadow is clearly visible too.

No top less pictures of me, but the following posts @ rameshwaram should expose my need for exercise.

Palakkad is a nice town near the Kerala - Tamil Nadu Border, some 40 km from Coimbatore.

Both my parents are from there, and the temples are in my dads village, which we have not visited in the past 9 years.

I am in a veshti, and the t-shirt had to come out at the temple..... but pics of that are censored. [;)]

Free food. If you promise that you are guaranteed crowds of people fighting to get in. and tell them that it is a Prasad, and you have a rowdy mob.
